The aryepiglottic fold is a fold of tissue in the larynx that extends from the arytenoid cartilage to the epiglottis. It forms part of the boundary between the laryngeal inlet (the entry to the larynx) and the pharynx. The aryepiglottic fold contains muscle fibers and connective tissue and helps to regulate the passage of air and food by contributing to the closure of the laryngeal inlet during swallowing.
